Purpose from plantation to pour
Here at Upper Room Roastery, we are on a mission to share the love of Christ from where we source our beans to the hands taking the cup.
PLANTATION: All of our beans are sourced from various plantations around the coffee belt, partnered with organizations that ensure the farmers’ wellbeing. It is our priority that neither quality nor compassion are compromised, which is why we choose plantations who value sustainability and treat their farmers with honor and dignity. The farms we source from operate on a smaller scale to preserve ethical practices, support female labor, and preserve wildlife.
PROCESS: We use the fire roasting method for all of our coffee, which is done on a micro-level (no more than 12lb batches). By roasting over an open flame, our coffee requires an intricate level of attentiveness, ensuring each batch is consistently roasted to perfection. The fire roasting method produces within the beans an incomparable aroma and decadent flavor, so it is needless to say that Upper Room Roastery always smells amazing!
POUR: Perhaps the most important aspect of our mission at Upper Room Roastery is how we create our coffee and who it will impact. The reality is, coffee is one of the most accessible commodities, there is a shop on every corner. Our mission, however, is to use this wonderful and beloved industry to change lives the way Jesus changed us: through the foster care system. From financial support to clothing drives to written notes, the Lord has provided numerous ways for Upper Room Roastery to be a vessel of His gospel to foster youth, and there is still much more in the works.
