Abby’s love for coffee was significantly deepened when she became Torryn’s roommate in college. Currently, she is student teaching in a 4th grade classroom and cannot get through the day without her daily iced latte using the Upper Room Roastery New Believer’s Blend. When she is not in the classroom, she is often roaming the aisles at Trader Joe’s, meal prepping, watching Friends with her boyfriend, or seeing a local musical.

Go-to coffee order: Iced brown sugar honey latte, half sweet of course.

Barista

Natalie is a 1st grade teacher with a love for Jesus, people, and fun coffee drinks! She loves to worship, workout, cook, and play board games with her friends, family, and future fiancé (woop woop!). Natalie's appreciation for coffee grew as her friendship with Torryn grew, though she had to limit herself to a single cup a day (it was getting out of hand).

Go-to coffee order: iced honey cinnamon latte (lactose free milk) with a dash of turmeric

Barista

Brooke is a musician and AV tech with a passion for good coffee. If she’s not outside hiking or bouldering, you’ll likely find her practicing guitar or locked in the studio (with an iced mocha, of course). She loves making coffee syrups, having an excessive amount of houseplants, and playing music with her friends.

Go-to coffee order: Iced hazelnut mocha with oat milk, half sweet

Brooklyn loves anything to do with horses, animals, and trying new things. She recently graduated college, got married, and is settling into what she calls “real adult life.” She loves baking and cooking, and always has a fun drink.

MOM (Merchandise & Operations Manager)

As our executive MOM, Deana has been Upper Room Roastery’s number one supporter and operational backbone since day one. We would not be anywhere near where we are without her. She is a world-class traveler/vacation planner, bargain-finder, and above all, MOM!

Senior Barista & Manager In-Training

Luke is the one person who may love coffee more than Torryn does. As an aspiring optometry student, he lives off of cold brew and double-shots of espresso. He is Upper Room Roastery’s strategic & creative support, and also the love of Torryn’s life! He is a phenomenal sous-chef, loves to find any reason to go on an adventure & excursion, and is an avid proponent of Birkenstocks.

Go-to coffee order: Double-shot of espresso with a splash of heavy cream

Founder & Owner

As the owner of Upper Room Roastery, it is no surprise that Torryn loves coffee. She also has a deep love for the outdoors, tinned fish, Beat Bobby Flay, tulips, Taylor Swift’s first 11 albums, hot dogs, writing poetry, folk-worship music, and handmade mugs.
